Last week, right after I made my last post, while perusing the Etsy art category, I saw a listing for a painting that just had the dreamiest colors in it...I had to check it out, followed by the whole shop, which is filled with breathtaking work by Jessica Simanowski.
In her Sold items, I found this amazing piece, "You Can Either Start Here Or End Here":
This text was in the listing's description:
"Sometimes it seems that everything stops and stands still, like a journey that came to an end and emptyness spreads its wings upon you. Or is it the opposite, that fullness made you let go of the old because you are ready for the new path? The journey can either start or end at this point."
Isn't it gorgeous? I love the texture and the water, oh, it seems like you could just dip your toes in it and reach out and touch the trees with your fingertips. And those words just add to the beauty, and, wow, what an amazing way to think about endings. Those words really hit home for me, especially since in my next-to-last post, about failing, I used the analogy of a sinking ship and trying to get it back afloat, about, essentially, starting here.
Check out the rest of her work...she has text with most of her pieces, which, I really, really love, and the colors she chooses and uses...sigh. They're just dreamy indeed.
