Adventure #116: KJ & The Creative Challenge (Day 5!)

Dear You,

Two items from my List Of Creative Things I Want To Do were 1) start regularly participating in online community challenges and 2) do cartoons and comics.  When I saw that the topic for "Illustration Friday" this week was 'memories', I found a way to do both!

I mentioned in Tuesday's post that I quit my last 9 to 5 job three years ago.

I worked at a law firm and there was a very special period of time while I was there where I shared one huge office called the "secretarial room" with three girls who started out as co-workers, but wound up being some of my closest friends.   One day, in September of 2004, one of us said something funny and it hit me that one of us was always saying something funny, so, after I got done laughing like a hyena, I thought to myself, "We are hilarious.  I should be writing this stuff down!"  And I did just that: I opened up a Word document and started saving our wittiest, silliest and most non-sensical comments and conversations,  until August of 2005 when I quit. 

This morning, I decided to take one of those memories -- this one an exchange between Kerri (in the glasses) and me -- and make a cartoon out of it for my Illustration Friday entry.

P.S. This post is dedicated to Summer, the only one of the four of us still in that secretarial room today.
